…holding forth the word of life (Philippians 2:16a)


“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time” (I Peter 1:3-5).


Thank God for…
Ø making us reasonable creatures, capable of knowing, loving, serving, and enjoying Him.
Ø His preservation, that our lives are prolonged, and that the use of our reason and understanding, our limbs and senses are continued to us.
Ø remarkable recoveries from danger, by sickness or otherwise.
Ø the supports and comforts of this life.
Ø success in our callings and affairs, blessings in relationships, and comfortable places of abode.
Ø our spouses, children, teachers, and leaders, praising Him for those born again.
Ø appointing the Redeemer and for His gracious condescension in dealing with men on new terms.
Ø the wonderful and mysterious incarnation of the Son of God.
Ø the full satisfaction which Christ made to the justice of God for the sin of man, by the blood of His cross, for the purchases, victories, and triumphs of the cross, and for all the precious benefits which flow to us from the dying of our Lord Jesus.
Ø His resurrection from the dead the third day.
Ø His Ascension into heaven and His sitting at God’s right hand.
Ø the intercession which He ever lives to make for us.
Ø the dominion and sovereignty to which the Redeemer is exalted.
Ø the assurance we have of His second coming to judge the world.
Ø the sending of the Holy Spirit to comfort and support us, to carry on the work of Christ, and to prepare us for His second coming.
Ø the covenant of grace made with us in Jesus Christ, and for all the exceeding great and precious privileges of that covenant, and for the signs and seals of it.
Ø the Scriptures and the preserving of them pure and entire to our day.
Ø the planting of the gospel Church in the world; for faithful missionaries.
Ø the martyrs and the good examples who have gone before us to heaven.
Ø the communion of saints at church, this spiritual fellowship which we have in faith, hope, and love; for recent converts and for godly and gifted pastors.
Ø the prospect and hope of eternal life, when time shall be no more.
