Praying for our Children
Pastor’s Study

…holding forth the word of life (Philippians 2:16a)
Pray for the salvation of our children and the restoration of the fallen
Pray that our children would repent of their sins and place their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord (I Timothy 2:1-6)
Pray also that our children would:
Ø Remember their Creator in the days of their youth (Ecclesiastes 12:1, 13).
Ø Honor their parents (Exodus 20:12).
Ø Obey their parents in the Lord (Ephesians 6:1).
Ø Imitate their heavenly Father, walking in love, in the Light, and in wisdom (Ephesians 5:1-21).
Ø Submit to God’s discipline, growing in sanctification as a result (Hebrews 12:7).
Ø Demonstrate Christlikeness in speech, life, love, faith, and purity (1 Timothy 4:12).
Ø Be preserved from evil (Matthew 6:13).
Ø Discern God’s will for their lives (Colossians 1:9).
Ø Endure the trial of their faith, especially at schools and colleges (Colossians 1:11).
Ø Marry godly spouses when they grow up (Proverbs 12:4; 18:22; 19:14; Ephesians 5:22-25; Hebrews 13:4).
Ø Choose their friends wisely, not walking in “the counsel of the ungodly” (Psalm 1:1).
No other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 3:11).
